My focus as a dressage rider/trainer and equine therapist is to provide a high quality service where the wellbeing of the horse is paramount. I have a small family run yard from which I train and compete my own horses (currently to Inter II - working towards Grand Prix).
Just to give you some idea of what I offer - I am a freelance coach travelling throughout the East Midlands and coach/massage at a variety of yards and clinic venues. I take horses for training livery and offer intensive training holidays for both you and your horse if you wish to come and stay overnight. During the summer months I run a series of weekend training camps for up to 7 people which are really good fun and very popular. I am on the border of both Northern and Central British Dressage Regions and offer through British Dressage, Flexi Training sessions which count towards Home International or Inter Regional Team Selection criteria. I coach at BD training days and camps and in 2019 was the Northern Inter Regional Team Coach.
I train with Rhett Bird, GP rider. I buy my own horses unbroken and enjoy training them through the levels. I have regularly competed at the National Dressage Champs (with 9 top 10 placings from Novice to PSG), 3 Regional Titles and been selected for the Lottery funded Regional Foundation Squad (for riders with Olympic potential) in previous years.
I am qualified as an Advanced Equine Body Worker and UKCC level 3 British Dressage accredited coach and Youth Trainer/Assessor. I am fully insured, first aid qualified, safeguarding trained and checked.
I find the combined knowledge of ridden training and equine physiology a great advantage, not only for my own horses but also to ensure that my clients can make the most of their training, and ensure that their horse is happy and comfortable.
I can also offer ridden demonstrations and lectures for your yard/club/event - again combining the knowledge from both therapy and training to help our horses to perform comfortably and to the best of their ability.
Rider therapy is offered by my business partner through Livewell Therapy Ltd. Gary was part of the medical team at the 2014 Commonwealth Games and has a wealth of expertise including soft tissue, chiropractic/spinal manipulation and acupuncture (good enough for our top athletes - great for you!)
